How to setup order hold codes in AX 2012 R3 CU8 and What is order hold codes in AX 2012 R3 CU8?

AX: AX 2012 R3
OS: Windows Server 2012 R2
SQL: SQL 2014

Solution:

During the sales process, there are times when a sales order must be placed on hold. When a sales order is placed on hold, an order hold code is assigned to the sales order to indicate the reason for the hold. For example, a sales order might be placed on hold because of issues with a customer payment, fraud, or to wait for review by a manager.

To set up codes for order holds, follow these steps:

Click Sales and marketing > Setup > Sales Orders > Order hold codes.
In the Order hold codes form, click New, and in the Hold code field, enter the name of the code.
In the Description field, enter a description or explanation of the code.
On the General FastTab, in the Role field, select the security role that can use the hold code.
If this hold code should be automatically placed on all new sales order holds, select the Default for sales order check box.
In the Hold code color field, select the color that will be applied to the hold code.
If the inventory reservations on a sales order should be removed when the hold code is applied, select the Remove inventory reservations check box.

This could be because the pre-login handshake failed or the server was unable to respond back in time. The duration spent while attempting to connect to this server was - [Pre-Login] initialization=13477; handshake=14506;

Error comes when try to connect sql server instance from another machine

Solution:

Enable port 1433 in firewall.

How to export a detailed list of Active Directory users' “Member of” tab?

Open Power Shell

type:

Get-ADPrincipalGroupMembership Username | Select Name

Where Username is the name of the user you're querying.

Example:

PS F:\> Get-ADPrincipalGroupMembership panditu | Select Name

Now if you need to export this list to CSV or TXT:

Get-ADPrincipalGroupMembership panditu | Select Name >c:\panditu.txt

The output file will be in C:\ Drive.

Importing Model Store in AX 2012 R2\R3 by Creating the temporary schema involves these three basic steps:

Creation of a temporary schema
Importing model store to temporary schema
Applying the model store

Let's Start!

Creation of a temporary schema

Create a temporary schema in AX database to be used on next step during import model store.

Steps:
1. Open SSMS (SQL Server Management Studio) (Press the Windows Key + R, Run will open Type SSMS and enter)
2. Connect to the SQL Server instance where AX database resides
3. Expand to Databases > MicrosoftDynamicsAX_model > Security > Schemas
4. Right click > New schema
5. Type in the temporary schema name (TempoSchema) and select the schema owner and click "OK"
6. Initialize the temporary schema

For Initialize the temporary schema Use the command below:

Initialize-AXModelStore -AOSAccount "Domain\AccountName" -SchemaName <TempoSchema> -Server <ServerName> -Database <DatabaseName>)

Importing model store to temporary schema

Import model store to temporary schema

Syntax: Import-AXModelStore -File <filename> -TempoSchema

Example:
Import-AXModelStore -File “C:\AX\AX_ModelStores\AXModelStore.axmodelstore” -SchemaName “TempoSchema” –IdConflict overwrite -Config MicrosoftDynamicsAX -Details

Applying the model store

Apply the model store like this

Import-AXModelStore -Apply:TempoSchema -Config MicrosoftDynamicsAX -details

Effective from July 1, 2017, Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 will no longer be available for new customers. However, existing customers can continue to purchase additional licenses as required.
