How many maximum numbers of users per AOS for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 and AX 2012
Well, it depends… up to 50 user are, of course, not a load for an AX 2009 AOS – it scales quite well and can handle up to 450 users (according to the Day in the Life official benchmark: 2250 concurrent user sessions per 5 AOSes). But you should use at least two object servers if:
You have many batch jobs running periodically and/or “heavy load” batch jobs (as you probably know, in AX 2009 batch server is moved to AOS),
Your AX is integrated with third-party applications which connect to AX through a Business Connector and would periodically load the system heavily.
In my case a batch server (with up to 24 threads configured to run batch jobs simultaneously) gives about 30% of the total workload – the rest is contributed by 150+ concurrent users and several Business Connector sessions.
